Project 2025
A think tank called The Heritage Foundation unveiled its agenda in April last year. This is a $22 million presidential transition operation (887 pages) that is preparing policies, personnel lists and transition plans to recommend to any Republican who may win the 2024 election. Heritage Project 2025 was written by several top former Trump appointees and reflects input from more than 100 organizations.
This transition plan includes the following policies:
- Independent agencies such as the Department of Justice, FCC, FTC, etc., be placed under direct presidential control – an idea known as unitary executive theory. (P. 560, 873)
- Enact Schedule F which would categorize 50k federal employees as political appointees, removing their civil service protections and make it easier to appoint loyalists to the president. This will increase the number of political appointees by 10x, currently a president appoints only 4k. (P. 80)
- The corporate income tax rate should be reduced from 21 percent to 15 percent. (P. 696)
- Individual income tax from seven tax brackets to two which will result in lower and middle income households paying more taxes. Also eliminates most deductions and credits. (P. 696)
- Incentivize citizens to come after scientists under the False Claims Act for research misconduct. (P. 438)
- End data gathering of employment by race or ethnicity since it “Crudely fails to recognize the diversity of the American workforce and forces individuals into categories that do not fully reflect their racial and ethnic heritage.” (P. 583)
- Eliminating Head Start, gutting lunch programs and ending school low income assistance (Title 1) in favor of a non-string attached grant to states which is encouraged to be used as vouchers for private schools.
- Requires all U.S. teenagers to take the military entrance exam (ASVAB) as part of high school. Private schools will be exempted. (P. 103)
- New agency to ensure any research conducted with taxpayer dollars serves the national interest in a concrete way in line with conservative principles. (P. 686)
- The National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) should be dismantled and many of its functions eliminated, sent to other agencies, privatized, or placed under the control of states and territories. (P. 664)
- Asserts that the president (executive branch) is just as empowered as any other branch of government to “assess constitutionality.” (P. 559)
The Trump administration will be a cesspool of corruption, be anti science, anti worker, increase the wealth gap, increase the deficit and they will dissapear people. The writing is in the wall.
If you love this, love it, but dont frame it as patriotism.
Vote as you wish.
